Cloud Computing for Small and Midsize Businesses

post image reprinted with permission from the HP Small Business Center You’ve no doubt heard a lot about cloud computing (or the cloud). What you may not have learned is how this misty concept can help with the real problems of operating your business, especially in hard times. In short, cloud computing offers attractive options for small and midsize businesses that need critical IT upgrades, but may lack the cash for a large capital investment. Through the cloud, you can add new, vital applications or you can supplement the capacity of an existing infrastructure. Windows 7: Snipping Tool to capture screen shots

post image Have you ever wished you could take a snapshot of something on your computer screen? What about the ability to send someone a picture of your error message? In Windows XP and 2000, the only way to get a screen shot was to get a picture of the ENTIRE screen. With VISTA, and now Windows 7, you can get as much or as little of the screen as you want in a format that's much easier to work with. How? You can use the SNIPPING TOOL. Snipping Tool: You can capture any of the following types of snips: -Free-form Snip. Draw a free-form shape around an object. -Rectangular Snip. Drag the cursor around an object to form a rectangle. -Window Snip. Select a window, such as a browser window or dialog box, that you want to capture. -Full-screen Snip. Capture the entire screen. After you capture a snip, it's automatically copied to the Clipboard and the mark-up window. From the mark-up window, you can annotate, save, or share the snip. The following procedures explain how to use Snipping Tool.

Great Tips for Better Holiday Photos

post image This year, you don’t have to worry about making your holiday photos stand out. Here are some great tips that are sure to improve your pictures! Tip: Plan Ahead The classic problem with holiday photos is that they have to be taken weeks in advance so you can send out cards and mailings beforehand. It seems too early to drag out once-a-year decorations just so you can take a holiday photo before the snow flies. But it's never too early to think about the perfect image to accompany the annual "year in review" letter that describes your nearly perfect family. The solution: Go generic. How is such a thing possible? Find an object that says "holiday." For ideas, check out the Office Live Clip Art Web site. Do a search for ...
