Windows 7 has been a big hit not with our associates, but also with our clients. If you haven't demo'd one yet, I highly recommend either stopping by our office or your local big box store and taking it for a sping. One of the most surprising things for me was how fast it was. It was faster than my XP machine on the same hardware. That's rare for operating system (OS) upgrades. Usually their more powerful bloated with their features and bog down the machine. Although not an OS, Symantec's software comes to mind.
Fresh installs tend to always make a computer seem fast, but my home computer was a relatively new XP install and seemed pretty fast already. But Windows 7 is different. It takes advantage of the hardware resources better, especially the additional Gig of RAM (temporary memory) that I had installed. Plus it has the slick interface and all of the added features that I've blogged about in the past, it's just slick.
So in case you're wondering if you are a good candidate for Windows 7, start by downloading the free Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to do a quick check.
